In game one, Bloomfield led 1-0 through 3 innings. Bloomfield had a strong 4th inning scoring 6 runs, on 5 hits.

The Eagle’s best scoring chance came in the 4th inning when Amy Mantha struck out swinging, but reached first on a dropped 3rd strike. Emily Archer came up next and hit into a double play. KIM Bentson doubled to center field followed by a single by Cassidie Ern. Bentson was tagged out in a run down between 2nd and 3rd for the final out.

Bloomfield held on to get a 9-0 win.

In game two, it was tightly contested throughout as both teams scored runs in the first inning. The lead-off batter Samantha Canning singled through the left side. Samantha Pagano singled to left field bringing in Canning to tie the game at one.

The game remained tied at one until Post came up to bat in the 6th inning. Ern singled to lead-off the inning and when Amanda Prince singled, Bloomfield made a pitching change. Post quickly adapted to the new pitcher, who they saw in the last inning of game one. Pagano hit a sacrifice ground ball to second base while Ern scored.

Post was not out of the woods yet as Bloomfield made one last attempt in the top of the 7th. Brianna Moore doubled for the Deacons putting the tying run in scoring position. Following that the Eagles keep cool and went 1-2-3 to retire the side and get the win.

Post left fielder Samantha Pagano and center fielder Amanda Prince made two difficult catches in the 7th to stop Bloomfield’s offense.

Stephanie Carrillo picked up both the loss and the win on the day for Post. The Eagles will play a crucial conference double header against USP Saturday at home on LaMoy Field.
