Post Softball Sweeps Philly U

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Post Softball team defeated Philadelphia University 4-1 in both games of a doubleheader on Sunday. The wins improve the Eagles to 9-9 in the CACC.

Post scored the first run of the game in the 4th inning. With two outs, Amy Mantha singled to left field and Emily Archer hit an RBI double. Post lead 1-0, but Philly U tied the game in the bottom of the inning.

Post scored the winning 3 runs in the 6th inning. Canning singled to left field leading off for the Eagles. Stephanie Carrillo doubled to center field while Canning scored. Mantha hit a double as well this time scoring Carrillo. Archer singled to center field, picking up her second RBI of the day bringing in Mantha. Post held on to win 4-1.

In game two, Philadelphia lead 1-0 until the 3rd inning. Carrillo reached on an error and Archer hit another RBI to tie the game at one.

Post scored one run in the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings to move on for the victory. Emily Archer had 2 RBIs in game two. Samantha Canning had 1 RBI on 2 hits for the Eagles.

Monique Chance
Women's Basketball
Monique Chance had another productive week for the Women’s Basketball team averaging 14.3 points per game and 6.7 rebounds. Chance shot 80% from the charity stripe along with 45.9% shooting from the floor.
Spencer Smith*
Men's Basketball
Spencer Smith guided the Eagles to a play-off berth following a 3-0 week in must win games. Smith scored 24 points per game last week, including a 27 point effort against Caldwell and 28 points against USP. In addition, he also came up with 12 steals.
