Waterbury – At the first show of the semester hosted by Wesleyan University in Hebron, Connecticut, freshman Kelly Strout earned Reserve High Point Rider for the Post University Equestrian. Strout won both her Novice Fences and Intermediate Flat classes, which qualified her to ride off against two other riders at the end of the show for the High Point Rider award, and she rode well to finish in second place overall. Strout has been an anchor for the Post Equestrian Team this year, having won High Point Rider at the Connecticut College show on November 1, 2008, and earning also four individual first-place ribbons last semester. Post University's equestrian team currently stands in sixth place ranking in Region 1 of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA)

Post University's IHSA team is having another a great year, with the largest September roster ever, they earned Reserve High Point Team at Trinity College on October 11, 2008. The team currently practices at Lee's Riding Stables in Litchfield, Connecticut with Coach Heather Johnson. Both the Equestrian Team and the IDA Dressage Team will be competing next weekend and hope to continue their winning ways.
