Cross Country Splits Tri-Meet With Bridgeport,
STAC

MIDDLEBURY, Conn.-Sophomore Tim
McCarthy won the men's race, while senior Jamie
Salvesen finish fourth in the women's race, as the Post
University men's and women's cross country teams split a tri-match
with Bridgeport and St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday afternoon at Hop
Brook Lake Park.
McCarthy won his second race of the season at Hop Brook
finishing the 8k course with a time of 31:35. Senior Matt
Mehlhouse finished second on the team and eighth overall
with a time of 37:45. Junior Ben Schoenberg
rounded out the top three for the Eagles with a 40:46, finishing
12th overall.
Senior Claudel Jean-Louis finished
14th overall, crossing the finish line with a time of
41:42. Freshman Nick Kinlock recorded a 44:09, and
sophomore Grant Mills finished the race with a
time of 46:50.
As a team, the Eagles beat Bridgeport 27-28, but fell 35-20
against STAC.
In the women's race, Salvesen led the Eagles with a time of
25:00, while sophomore Quistara Letona finished
second on the team and sixth overall with a time of 26:01, over the
5k course. Junior Megan Oates was third on the
team and eighth overall with a time of 26:15.
Jenna Salvesen finished the race with a time of
29:02, while sophomore Emily Archer recorded a
42:32.
The Eagles defeated STAC, by a 25-30 count, while falling to
Bridgeport 20-35. Bridgeport defeated STAC 20-35.
The Eagles return to action on October 13, as they travel to
Philadelphia, Pa. for the Cabrini College Invitational, at the
Belmont Plateau.
