4th Annual Baseball Alumni Game Recap
WATERBURY, Conn (October 29, 2009) The 4th annual Alumni game finally found a nice day after being rescheduled twice due to poor weather. Several alums, family, and friends came back to attend the annual game and barbeque. Over 60 people attended the event to share stories, laughs, and memories of their time here as a part of the Post University Baseball family.
"It was wonderful to have all the guys come back and partake in what has become an outstanding yearly event,” said Post University Baseball Coach AJ MnNamara. “I'd like to especially thank Chris Ouellette '08, Mr and Mrs Wolfe, Mrs Skjold and Mrs. Sirois for all their assistance with the day including the communication and all the delicious food. I'd also like to thank Post University President Mr. Zirkle and his wife for attending as it means a lot to have the support of the administration."
Over the years a tradition has been established where the incoming players on the team sing the National Anthem. Highlighting this year’s event was freshman Todd Blair from Ajax, ON, who sung the Canadian National Anthem.
Among the former players in attendance was 2nd All-CACC team member Eric Rovinetti from the class of 2008. Mike Padovani from the class of 2007 who reached 90mph on the radar gun, Matt Dimania ’07, and Joe Procsia ’09.
"All in all, it was a great day and I'm glad that we didn't have to cancel it because it means a lot to me to see all the old guys back again to share some laughs,” reflected McNamara. “The best part of the day is staying after and trading stories long after the event is over and then meeting up for dinner that night. This Program and its history, including all the student-athletes who have played here mean a lot to me and I'm happy to be a part of it."
