Ed Gilberti is in his first full year as the head athletic trainer at Post University. Prior to his current position, Gilberti was an assistant athletic trainer at Post, for two years, through React Physical Therapy in Waterbury, Conn.

While as an assistant athletic trainer, Gilberti was responsible for a myriad of tasks, including covering practices and games for several of the athletic department's 12 intercollegiate athletic programs. In addition, he worked with coaches in the athletic department to develop individualized strength and conditioning programs for the student-athletes at Post University.

In 2006-07, Gilberti was elevated to interim head athletic trainer, and in the summer of 2007, Gilberti was named head athletic trainer, and became a full-time employee of Post University.

His current role has him being responsible for the prevention, recognition, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for each of the student-athletes participating in the 12 intercollegiate and two sub-varsity athletic programs the University offers. In addition, he continues to serve as the strength and conditioning coach for the Post University athletic department.

Before joining React Physical Therapy, Gilberti worked for South County Physical Therapy in Worchester, Mass, where he worked with Shrewsbury High School.

A 2003 graduate of Northeastern University in Athletic Training, Gilberti resides in Shelton, Conn.
